This blog is published and maintained with the hope of promoting serious thought and deeper understanding of "the other", whatever "the other" happens to be in relation to you.
Expand your mind.
I didn't know what to call this blog. I tried to give it a title as broad and as open as everything I think and care about. Readers from Great Britain, the United States, Canada, &c. will hopefully find this a fascinating read, by way of some thought-provoking (and occasionally confrontational and controversial) posts. Readers from other parts of the world (China, Japan, the Middle East, South America &c.) will hopefully gain an insight into the Western community.
A brief personal note.
I live and study in the United Kingdom. From university, I have a B.A. Hons. in American Studies and Imaginative Writing. I focused my studies predominantly on the question of race in US society and, with the help of my tutor and mentor, I completed my undergraduate dissertation on the work of W.E.B. Du Bois. As you'll see, that's pretty much what I write about here.
I currently study full time at the University of Manchester, for an MA in American Studies. This blog currently stands as an extension of my reading and work since studying for my BA which I finished in the summer of 2008.
